Breno Veiga
Graduate Research Assistant
Breno Veiga is an architect with more than ten years of experience in Brazil, where he has worked on healthcare, corporate, and high-end residential projects. Before beginning his Ph.D. at Georgia Tech, he was part of the Perkins&Will team in Sao Paulo, collaborating with U.S. studios on healthcare projects and working with multidisciplinary groups across the firm on design and research initiatives. He also served as the Research and Innovation Champion for the Sao Paulo office.
Over the years, his work has centered on design development, with a focus on BIM workflows, parametric modeling, and building performance simulations. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master of Science in Architecture from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie and a postgraduate specialization in Project Management from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo.
At Georgia Tech, his research explores how digital technologies can inform evidence-based design for rehabilitation and home environments. By connecting environmental simulations, immersive experiences, and human data, he studies how design affects comfort, recovery, and wellbeing, seeking new ways to create spaces that actively support health and adaptability in everyday life.
