He is a medical practitioner as well as an architect, MD, Ph.D., a senior Post-Doc scientist, Healthcare/medical designer at the SimTigrate Design Lab (SDL). A physician, architect, lighting specialist, and entrepreneur currently working at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has a Doctorate in Architecture & Building Technology from Netherlands and an undergraduate and a medical degree from Canada. In addition, Mo has received additional training in Foundations of Clinical Research from Harvard University, School of Medicine as well as Surgical Training in Ophthalmology at Cape Town University, School of Medicine. 

He is a healthcare design researcher, who focuses on improving patient safety and outcomes in high-stress healthcare settings using evidence-based design and human-centered design approaches. His research emphasizes on effects of the built and natural environment on physical and mental health as well as the social and psychological dimensions of the built environment, particularly among vulnerable populations. Predominantly he is interested in interdisciplinary research efforts to enhance healthcare outcomes through effective environmental design. His design and health-focused research have been funded through grants from National Research Council Canada and his findings have been featured in peer-reviewed publications and invited presentations. He gained traction and credibility within the academic community because he has had more than 30 academic research papers in medicine and design in the top journals including two patents.
